Meadowfield 3rd graders presented their science based coached project to 5th grade Strings students today. 3rd graders were challenged to create an instrument with varying pitch and volume and had to demonstrate these elements as part of their presentation. 5th grade Strings students helped assess their final products. Great job bringing science sound standards to life, 3rd grade! Thank you for supporting this learning experience, 5th graders!

"Map of Africa" visits Meadowfield
University of South Carolina geography professors Jerry Mitchell and Larianne Collins are spending the week of February 9-12 with our students (kindergarten through 5th grade) to share an interactive lesson on this incredible floor-sized map of the continent of Africa. Students were able to explore the map and learn information about the geography of this area in our world. 3rd grader Emily shared, "There is so much to learn about the world around us, about every continent!" What a wonderful opportunity for all of our students!
Students play "Simon Says" using their newly acquired knowledge presented.
Students seek specific habitats of animals.
Students create a visual interpretation of the different elements of the map.
4th Grade Presents "Fraction Frenzy!"
Meadowfield 4th graders presented their math-based coached project to 5th grade students Friday, January 31st. They chose the type of final product teaching tool they would create and then used itto teach 5th grade students. This coached project was an opportunity to share fraction skill practice and knowledge across grade levels, in turn building both their understanding and confidence as math students.
